About Ian

Ian Chamberlin, a Republican candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives in District 41, was born in Toledo, Ohio, to a U.S. Navy enlistee and his wife. During his father’s deployment, Ian spent the earliest months of his life living with his mother and grandparents in Holland, Ohio. At just six months old, he moved with his family to Rota, Spain, where he spent the first five years of his childhood.

Following the completion of his father’s naval service, Ian spent the next two decades in Northern Virginia. Raised in the Catholic faith with a strong appreciation for service, responsibility, and community, Ian pursued public service through both his education and professional career. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration (2019) and a Master of Public Policy (2020) from George Mason University.

Ian has worked at the U.S. Department of Defense and later at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. He currently works for a private Catholic university, where he negotiates data use agreements, service contracts, and research agreements with domestic and international partners. Through this work, he has developed experience navigating complex legal language, building productive partnerships, and an attention to detail.

After completing his education and starting his early career there, Ian and his wife made the decision to return home to Toledo where his family’s roots run deep. Today, Ian resides in South Toledo near the Toledo Zoo and is proud to call Northwest Ohio home

Ian’s vision for Northwest Ohio is one where seniors, families, and veterans experience real tax relief, students have stronger pathways to opportunity, energy is reliable and affordable, and the regional economy grows so future generations can build their lives and raise their families close to home.
