About Ian
Ian Chamberlin, the Republican candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives in District 41, was born in Toledo, Ohio, to a U.S. Navy enlistee and his wife. During his father’s deployment, he spent his earliest months living with family in Holland, Ohio, before moving at six months old to Rota, Spain, where he spent the first five years of his childhood. After his father’s naval service concluded, Ian lived in Northern Virginia for the next two decades.
Raised in the Catholic faith with a strong emphasis on service, responsibility, and community, he pursued a path in public service, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration (2019) and a Master of Public Policy (2020) from George Mason University.
Ian has worked at the U.S. Department of Defense and later at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. He currently works for a private Catholic university, where he negotiates data use agreements, service contracts, and research agreements with domestic and international partners. Through this work, he has developed experience navigating complex legal language, building productive partnerships, and an attention to detail.
After completing his education and starting his early career in Virginia, Ian and his wife, a kindergarten teacher, made the decision to return home to Toledo where his family’s roots run deep.
Today, Ian resides in South Toledo near the Toledo Zoo and is proud to call Northwest Ohio home
Ian’s vision for District 41 is one where seniors, families, and veterans receive meaningful tax relief, students have stronger pathways to opportunity, energy is reliable and affordable, and the local economy continues to grow so future generations can build their lives and raise their families close to home.
He believes District 41’s greatest strength is its people; their work ethic, their pride in community, and their commitment to building a better future.
Ian is running to help restore confidence that hard work can once again lead to stability and opportunity. By championing policies that support growth, strengthen neighborhoods, and invest in the next generation, he is committed to ensuring that District 41 is a place where families can continue to achieve the American Dream.
