Ian’s Priorities
-
Taxes should be stable and affordable. Families, seniors, and veterans deserve real relief. As your State Representative, I will focus on legislation that helps people stay in their homes, keep more of what they earn, and confidently plan for the future.
I support:Expanding the Homestead Exemption to provide meaningful property tax relief for seniors and fixed-income families
A full property tax exemption for disabled veterans in recognition of their service and their families sacrifice
Phasing out the state income tax to put more money back into workers’ pockets
Comprehensive property tax reform to improve transparency, ensure fairness, and provide long-term affordability
-
Energy costs are rising and placing real pressure on our families, seniors, and small businesses. To make energy more affordable, we must increase supply, strengthen reliability, and modernize our infrastructure. Our legislation must encourage investment and long term stability.
I support:
Reducing unnecessary regulatory barriers to responsible new energy production in order to increase supply and lower costs
Building reliable and sustainable power generation that keeps energy affordable and ensures long term stability
Modernizing and expanding the electric grid to improve resilience, support economic growth, and meet future energy demand
-
Parents deserve a meaningful voice in their children’s education, and every student deserves access to a high quality learning environment that prepares them for success in today’s world. Our schools should focus on strong academics, real world skills, and opportunities that help students build a future in our community.
I support:
Reforming Ohio’s school funding system to make it more transparent, predictable, and fair for students and families
Expanding open enrollment opportunities so parents have greater flexibility in choosing the best educational setting for their children
Expanding access to school safety grants for all schools because every child deserves to learn in a safe environment
Strengthening career-technical education pathways that connect students to in-demand skill, good paying jobs, and local workforce needs

Northwest Ohio should be a region of growth and opportunity. Yet current projections show that Lucas County could face significant population decline in the coming decades. I believe Northwest Ohio’s best days are still ahead of us. With the right policies, we can encourage development, support local businesses, and strengthen the foundation for long term growth.
I support:
Reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses so local entrepreneurs can expand, hire, and thrive
Prioritizing road maintenance and infrastructure repair to improve daily life for residents and strengthen our regional economy
Targeted tax incentives to retain Ohio talent and encourage young workers to build their futures here
Strategic capital investment in transportation assets such as Toledo Express Airport, regional rail connections, and the Port of Toledo to attract industry and create long term economic growth
